About Us
In April 2010, Il Pomodoro and Italia Ice Creamery will be celebrating their 27th and 32nd birthdays respectively. We have come a long way since those days, when lasagne, penne and cappuccino were innovations and the seating capacity of Il Pomodoro was 32! We have gradually evolved into the restaurant we are today.
In over 30 years of ice cream manufacture, we have proudly remained faithful to the traditional recipes and manufacturing process. This means that you can enjoy a genuine Italian ice cream – manufactured on the premises from fresh, natural ingredients – of the same high quality as you would expect in Italy.
Over the last 27 years of Il Pomodoro, however, we have adapted and diversified - extending our menu choices to suit changing trends in eating. So in celebration of our 27 years, we have trimmed down our menu, whilst at the same time revitalizing it. We believe the secret of authentic Italian cuisine lies not so much in its preparation, but rather in the choice and quality of the ingredients used – their FRESHNESS is of paramount importance.
Our current menu incorporates old favourites, whilst also introducing some of the lesser-known dishes of Italian regional cuisine. We hope you will take the time to browse and digest each page. Please do not hesitate to request further explanation of any dishes with which you are unfamiliar. We apologize in advance should an old favourite dish not be listed - just ask and we will be happy to re-create it where possible.
Above all, we hope that our own passion and genuine love of Italian gastronomic tradition will provide that touch of magic which makes your dining experience at Il Pomodoro extra special. Whether you are visiting us for a quick pizza, or are celebrating a special event and wish to “push the boat out”, we are committed to your total satisfaction.
